Target Roofing & Sheet Metal was a proud sponsor of the inaugural FGCU Contractor Cup, a golf tournament created to generate financial support for Florida Gulf Coast University’s new Construction Management program.

The bachelor’s degree program “emphasizes public and private, commercial and residential construction with a focus on sustainable construction methods.” FGCU created the program in response to an increasing demand for high-salaried construction managers, especially in Southwest Florida, which consistently ranks as one of the hottest building markets in the nation.

“For decades, Southwest Florida has been defined by growth, and having a construction management degree program right in town will ensure those working here are among the best-trained in the industry,” said Casey Crowther, founder and president of Target Roofing. “We predominantly hire locally, so we’re excited to partner with FGCU to get this program off the ground.”

Representing Target Roofing in the Contractor Cup were Casey, Rast Bryant (sales manager), Rob Gerding (commercial surveyor) and Brian Justice (project manager).

“We didn’t win, but we had a good time and the event raised a lot of money to help establish FGCU’s Construction Management program,” Casey said.
